Why is the state storage lost?

Settings such as language, form and table states, etc. are stored by your browser in cookies and local storage.

Because different browsers do not share this local storage, state storage must be done again for each browser, even if it is on the same device.

If this storage is lost when restarting the browser, the following causes may apply:

  1. You are working in your browser's "Private Browsing" mode.
  2. You manually delete the browser history or cookies.
  3. The local storage is full or the limits have been reached (see below).
  4. A setting in the browser is enabled to delete cookies and local storage when the browser is closed.
  5. You use virus and/or spam protection that deletes the data.
  6. Data is deleted by a cleanup program such as CCleaner, CleanMyMac.

Browser storage limitations

  • The total local storage is limited to a maximum of 50% of the available disk space.
  • Local storage is deleted after a certain number of days (depending on the browser) after the last access to the storage.
